Ballet Hispánico Welcomes Situation Project Students

In January 2021, Situation Project invited 900 middle school students to embark on a guided virtual journey with the nation’s renowned Latinx dance organization, Ballet Hispánico. With a viewing of prerecorded performances, these students were not only introduced to the dance community, but also got a turn to get up and move in a dance workshop featuring some familiar faces...their teachers! Concluding the event was an interactive Q&A with the professional dancers with questions submitted by the students.

According to the National Education Association (NEA), students who are highly engaged in the arts are twice as likely to proceed to graduate from college as their peers with no arts education. Especially during a pandemic, it was essential for Situation Project to continue to connect our partner schools to arts and cultural experiences to provide inspiration, entertainment, and education for the students.
